The whole concept of infallibility is reminiscent of the pope and his cardinals. And what mischief this created. Yogananda certainly was not infallible either. Far from it! He went to Japan to get a Ph. D. in the USA and had to come back a few months later as described in “Mejda”. He chose co-workers who were so disappointed in his behavior that they had no choice but to leave. Sri Nerode, after 1940, never spoke to, or about, Yogananda. Dhirananda sued Yogananda in 1935 and won. Yogananda is described as a bully who could not tolerate other capable minds around him. That’s why he was surrounded by yes-women.

The same seems to be true, with very few exceptions, for most other “gurus”.
