I was taught a wide variety of methods by both Yogananda and my father, and observed them teach yet other methods in classes. Repeats of classes they had given before with a different audience were different. I was raised in the tradition that there is no "right" way. You learn it all. The teacher adjusts the things taught to the capabilities and stage of development of those who are in the class, and to the teacher's internal state that day. So my judgement as to whether the Lahiri tradition is being followed is possibly too lax for you. You may have a more doctinaire requirement than I.
