The response to the questions from "thomas" was pretty harsh and didn't address a single question that he asked. I didn't see any answer to his questions nor did I read any "accusations" other than that the Mayor seems to be rewarding "political friends". The First Amendment (of the Constitution of the United States) is in effect in Pineville isn't it? In fact it seemed that the response might have come from one of the newer Pineville Aldermen. Perhaps the arrogance of the response matches the arrogance of elected officials that vote for themselves a raise and then ask the public to give them more money. And I find it very interesting that the author would compare Pineville Government to Athletes contracts and the New Orleans Saints. I agree with his comparison BOTH are wrong. Its just this simple. If you put yet another tax on the ballot it will lose. Doesnt mean we don't want police or Fire but maybe it will once again show that the public is not wanting to pay for "political hirings" and waste such as that wonderful bike track that tells everyone that crosses the river that planning does't always dictate decisions in Pineville. And there is No need to live in a fantasy that we will ever "consolidate " parish/city Government. Maybe fiscal responsibility and originality and vision would go a long way. Hope that I do not join " Thomas" in making "accusations" by simply asking questions and questioning the wisdom and motives of our so called leaders north of the river.
