sure...but watch the rural parish residents scream bloody murder when THEIR tax rates go up because they're going to be getting the same level of service as the city dwellers do. It's a no-win situation.

Sales tax increases are usually "temporary," but often get renewed by local governments after being voted in to begin with.

It's the property tax rates that don't stick with inflation.
