I'm afraid this isn't the case. In the rule book, if you pass any of the teaching exams you are deemed to be by definition a professional. There are no "relevant qualifications" for amateurs.

With regard to money from demonstrations, it doesn't matter what the expenses are. The important thing is that the fee for the demo is agreed with EADA/Scottish Dancesport/WADSA etc in advance and is then paid to the governing body. What they do with the money is up to them but usually they keep a portion and give the rest to the couple "for expenses" in general, not for specifc expenditure.

The problem arises with the rule that if you "act as a teacher" (whether or not for money), you lose amateur status - but it doesn't define what acting "as a teacher" is. Hence EADA being able to exercise discretion.
