In reply to: Chenyi 's message, "Re: OPENS ENTRIES RULES" on 14:31:26 05/25/03 Sun

I have spent the weekend swapping committee responsibilites around, I seem to be webmaster now, which is nice except that I still did not find an ftp client that I actually like....
Anyway, the thing that worries me is that, if we mess intermediates around too much they will all leave and we will have no advanced people at all! Seriously, we should work on helping people, not shoving restrictions left right and centre. I am as much in favour of people having a go, and moving up as the next person. But I honestly believe that we can't get a decent result out of shoving rules everywhere.

Ivda is pushed for time as it is but, perhaps we can run intermediate up to semi final/final. Then find a way to run a combined comp with advanced.. (Advanced bring some normal clothes and just do the int dances against the intermediate) I am not along alis lines of doing all the maths and working out timings, but then we could compare the 2 levels, and anyone really out of place in advanced would be given a by into the last round of intermediate, before it was run... And the intermdiates would be able to judge their level, just like we did for advanced ex students.
I am making no sense but does anyone see where I am going?
Probably not practical, but I have not heard anything else particulary feasible yet...
