Author: The syllabus is really vague.
Subject: I don't think the trad sets follow the same rules as adult vs. advanced adult competitions.

The syllabus just says that the trad sets are open to people who aren't eligible for solos. Since the adult categories are all teacher discretion, it stands to reason that her teacher used that discretion to determine that trad set would be a better fit. As far as I can tell, the winner hasn't competed in five years and the trad set in the syllabus does not differentiate between adult and advanced adult. Seems like a "damned if you do and damned if you don't" situation, because if she beat sixteen year olds in the &over category people would still be mad.
