Subject: wig damaging natural hair?

multiple girls from our school developed bald spots after NAIDC - clearly we suspect the wigs are causing it (many of girls have been to the dermatologists, and were all diagnosed with "stress alopecia" - though it seems dodgy that there would be a mass outbreak of anxiety after NAIDC!)
Are other schools/dancers dealing with this? Can we stop with the mile high wigs and billboard sized tiaras? Can more natural styles be normalized?
