The owner should have been open and honest with parents from the day she was informed, instead knowingly put dancers in studio with him the same day she found out. Most businesses and institutions where staff is accused of something is to immediately inform, keep the accused away until law enforcement is able to sort it all out, and comply with law enforcement so law enforcement can do their job. If or when the accused is found innocent, they then go on as business as usual. This is called due process. It is the law.Her first instinct is always damage control, protect her brand, protect her teachers above all else. Dancers are disposable. I am surprised if John and his mother don’t hold her partly accountable since the whole reason he was in the situation to begin with was because instead of him staying at her house as he had the night before, she was compelled to go to Savannah after the workshop when they had another workshop day the day after in Charleston. If dance was her top priority she could have spent that time with John focusing on what to accomplish instead of going God knows where doing God knows what. I wonder if she ever thought, if only I had prioritized my workshop and had John continue to stay with me. That would require a conscience though. He still made the decision to do what he did, but why put the fox in the hen house?
