Well, as a tracher who is not teaching, I live off of other people not working. That would make a "scab." Well, the man that WEAC wanted is in so there is no strike. I personally have been a bit weezy on the topic of a teacher strike...although it would be interesting to see how communites reacted to it. Obviously, thre would be some negative reactions as parents of youger kids would struggle to find proper supervision for the kids...would they just take off of work? How long would that last?
The QEO is not the answer..especially in districts where student attendance dips every year. Jefferson was a great example of this where attendance had slowly dropped over many years. Unfortunatrly, the building still had to be paid for (utilities....blah, blah) but we were getting less money because less students=less funding. Who suffered...teachers.
