granma's fireplace had a big swing arm that held pots.

i also remember her newspapered walls. they caused me to say my first word, which was "fis" . i remember seeing this cartoon charater ad for Hastings piston rings. was a little man with a humonguos fist coming right at you.
granma said i sat looking at it for a long time; finally she heard me say "dod! whata fis!"
i ain't shut up since! :))
