All right, you're gonna laugh, but my mom swears that my first words were "Cherokee, Choctaw, Chickasaw, Seminole & Creek"! She said I sang them like they were a nursery rhyme! Our family wasn't poor, (Dad flew for Braniff) but this was when the company was brand new and those first pilots didn't make near what they did later. We had a big rambling falling-down old house on 7 acres. I can remember plenty of times when money was tight, but we always had heat in the fireplace even when there was no propane in the tank. Which was when Mom and Grandmother would cook in the kitchen hearth, because the kitchen stove was propane too.

I was rich in siblings, relatives, and animals, both wild and domestic. Looking back, I can't imagine a better way to grow up!

>sounds like we had simular experiences grow'n up, tash.
>granma's fireplace had a big swing arm that held pots.

>right at you.
>granma said i sat looking at it for a long time;
>finally she heard me say "dod! whata fis!"
>i ain't shut up since! :))
