Hi LAgirl
I can't deny we drive on the wrong side of the road here:) And as you say, Glaswegian is spoken in Glasgow and is as you know, a very different language from English:)

The test has been tightened up, quite a few people do "cram" and it can get expensive. I passed my test first time, but really didn't expect to at all - I thought I'd pass 3rd time at best! Apart from the actual driving the memorizing all the answers to questions asked is hard work. I'm quite phobic about driving on British roads, they are so jammed with traffic.

Yes, we do pay a licence fee for the television - this is technically for the BBC. One man went to court to fight a case that he only ever watched the commercial channels, so didn't see why he should have to pay for the Beeb channels. And he won! Although how he proved what he watched I don't know (Steve's legal mind might be able to explain that one).

They don't call this place "rip off" Britain for nothing, if there is anyway to squeeze money out of the inhabitants, someone will think of it:)

Bella
