Subject: Anyone from UK? Could do with some advice

This may not be the ideal message board for the questions I want answered but it's all I can find and I need some info.

First things first, I have the worst buck teeth you could imagine. Seriously, I've looked at some of the pics on here and I find it hard to relate to the problems some of you have, simply because to me they seem so minor. If I had teeth like some of you guys I would be a happy man.

At this moment in time, that is the problem; I'm not a happy man. It's time to do something about it!

I was wondering if anyone from the UK could give me some advice though on treatments available. One quite large problem is the fact that I don't work (no confidence for that! Seriously, I feel people look down on me) and don't have thousands of pounds to spend on treatment. Obviously there is the NHS, but I know I will have to wait a long time for treatment. I know your thinking that isn't a big deal as long as the problem gets fixed eventually, but if I'm waiting for treatment then I'm going to be thinking of my teeth even more than I already do, which inevitably leads to a downward spiral of depression! Not good. I'm not a depressive person normally, but this is a big strain once I get my mind onto it.

Ok, by now your probably wondering what I want/expect? I wish I knew. Which is why I would like some advice. Any of you had similar problems/experiences? Or even, anybody had surgery to correct there teeth, one operation, all done? Is that even possible? Anybody had experiences of dental hospitals? I'd really be interested in hearing about that.

Another thing, has anyone had experiences with depression because of their teeth? If I went to the doctors and told them about this, do you think that might get any treatment speeded up? I know that sounds really quite rude and as if I think I have more right to treatment than everybody else but I'm at my wits end and can't bare to wait for any long periods of time!

Sorry about the long rant, I'm just feeling a bit down at the moment.

Any replies will be appreciated though.

Thanks
