Subject: The details and Peter's reaction on them

Rita:"Once and for all: my mother in law wasn't a crank. Regina always could keep herself in hands. I remember her as a respectable and self-controlled woman. Though her relations with my own mother were..... uneasy from the first day of their acquaintance, but my granny got on well with her. Despite they had to speak German because my grandmother didn't know English and of course couldn't learn it in her 70s."

>You gave very interesting details about Regina. And
>how did you get on with yer mother-in-law?

Our relations were variable, but not bad. Although we were
absolutely different in everything: style of life, characters,
interests. Her first reaction to me was in a style ‘you’re a
child in fact, you’re not ready for family life’. Regina rather
resigned herself to my marriage with Robert than approved it, and
only later, when Eva was born, she changed to best. She said that
Eva resembled her father in his infancy, but there was no very
much likeness on the picture. My relatives said that Eva had more
common features with me but as for me, I was sure that Eva didn’t
resemble nobody but herself.

Regina lived in England and our contacts were basically by phone
and mail. Eva’s relations with Regina of course differed from
relations with my parents. They were very good of course, but too
official.

Peter: She is giving again detailed information (that's why I'm still intruiged).
