I loved it too and though it was probably the best of the superhero movies. Regarding Cillian Murphy, I'm with you on his scene-stealing. He was excellent. It's amazing how scary a guy with a potato sack over his face can be. I thought it was rather brilliant how Nolan pulled that off.

Bale was the right man for the Batman character. His guteral growl when he was interrogating a criminal was just downright creepy. You were waiting for him to just bite the guy's head off. I can't wait for a sequel.

As far as Caine, from what I understand the Cockney accent is his real-life accent. However, considering the roles that he has chosen over the years a lot of them require a more elegant accent so he has buried it. I thought it kind of gave Alfred an interesting quirk.

Holmes was the straight arrow of the film and there wasn't much for her to do other than steer Wayne in the right direction. That being said, pretty much any established Hollywood actress could've pulled off the role, IMO. I have read that they are not bringing her back for the second film due because the studio's upset over her relationship with Tom Cruise overshadowing the film. Yeah, and I'm sure Spielberg will never work with Cruise again either.
