You believe ERG is dead? My research suggests otherwise. Lets leave it at that.
I thought I explained the nature of scards whilst scolding the luddite.
ERG/Proton are software application developers EG. The digital code, the application, is stored within a micro chip. The chip may be housed in a plastic card or a wristwatch, jewellry, belt buckle you name it. The chip in the mobile phone may eventually have two thousand applications. One may be transit.
If you researched Proton you will recognise the value of alliances re; Gemplus etc.
ERG/Proton technology is not confined to transit scards. That is the whole point. The transit industry is nothing more than a vehicle to deploy scards by stealth. If they can generate a profit that is a bonus. Major revenues, for example, will be derived from applications online. Break down the applications. You may have 50 companies offering applications to one card issuer. All deriving revenue from a myriad of fees.Yet far more cost effectively than what we have been assaulted with to date.
The technology is the issue NOT the package.
Hope that helps.
