Author: anonymous [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Date Posted: 16:04:00 10/17/02 Thu In reply to: anonymous 's message, "Merger of Northrop Grumman with TRW expected to take place 4th quarter U.S." on 16:04:00 10/17/02 Thu -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- With all the things TRW does I would think hundreds of hours could be made just working out all the very areas that ERG's Proton may be involved in----it is noted that TRW specialise in security--sames as Activicard. ------------------------------------------------------------ Bombadier I note as well as having contracts right around the world---has the London Underground--it also has this contract in Oz. Perth W.A. being ERG's home base. ERG is involved in transit sytems--and these look like powerful partners. ----------------------------------------------------------- http://ca.dailynews.yahoo.com/020512/5/mczz.html ----------------------------------------------------------- Saturday May 11 11:15 PM EST ------------------------------------------------------------ Bombardier in C$372 Mln Australian Order ----------------------------------------------------------- TORONTO (Reuters) - Canadian plane-maker Bombardier and Australian train manufacturer EDI-Rail said on Saturday they had secured an order to build and maintain 31 three-car trains in a contract worth C$372 million. ----------------------------------------------------------- Bombardier, which is the world's third-largest civil aircraft maker and the global No. 1 manufacturer of passenger trains, said it received the order from the Western Australian Government to build electric commuter trains for the southern leg of the Perth Urban Rail Development (PURD) project. ------------------------------------------------------------"These trains will provide the Western Australian public with state-of-the-art commuter transport," said Dan Osborne, a Bombardier official in Australia. ------------------------------------------------------------ The contract includes 15 years of maintenance and construction of a maintenance and stabling facility, the company said. Bombardier's share of the contract is about C$185 million. ------------------------------------------------------------ Bombardier, which has its headquarters in Montreal, said it will design the railcars and supply propulsion and electrical systems. EDI-Rail is supplying body shells and bogies, the company said. The assembly plant will be in Maryborough, Queensland. ------------------------------------------------------------ [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] |
