Analysts-Will it work?you gotta hand it to those guys-I mean they have no idea what is actually going on with this rollout.Don't they bother to do their research?People pay thousands $US for these so called definitive reports-but look at this Target rollout itself-what few seem to understand because they don't bother to listen to the people at the coal face-in the conference calls etc-is that this is not JUST Target-it is a rollout FINANCED by and INTIMATELY supported by and expected to succeed by major US consumer goods suppliers-companies which don't come any bigger on the world stage-Unilever,Pepsi,Mattel,J & J and the like-their research obviously tells 'em it's going to be a hit,as does Target's,as does Visa's,as does Mastercard's-because they never take a step without fully appraising through research assessments and high level exec assessments-otherwise why would they bother becoming so involved financially and technologically in the process? And the research these huge gorillas pay for is the best money can buy-what they know is that if you get this program up and running then they are going to save on research anyway because they will be scoring daily up to the minute data on precise buying patterns of consumers of their goods and services and it simply cannot be any better than that-data mining is important for this reason. These manufacturers will kill to get data so timely and accurate.
And the involvement of these other gorillas is probably why Catuity in its delay announcement referred to not just a customer-Target-but "customers".This is a joint effort. The sooner that is realised, and the sooner the implications of it are realised ,the better.Despite Target's veil of secrecy the facts are oozing out one by one.See the latest CardTech report, for example.
For the moment Catuity's share price is a steal IMO,barring unforeseens.
