While Rastlin's idea to set the pirates and drakins against eachother did work in a way, all it really did was get rid of the pirates. The drakin that had taken the sword in it's gut got up shortly, the wound not phasing it as much as he thought it would. So, he still had three of the demons to take care off, and after finishing the pirates, they all turned to him again. Before those three could attack though, a fouth decided to step in. While Rastlin was concentrating on the fight, one of the airborne demons swooped down and grabbed his shoulders with its foot claws. Winging up again it soon had him high enough in the air that if he were dropped, the fall would most likely prove fatal.
Sydney's remaining drakin had carefully watched as it's partner got skewered by the blade. It approached more cautiously, trying to find an opening to get past his sword, and eventually jumped behind him to make a slash for his back.
After seeing Raith dispose of his pirates so easily, the drakin that targeted him also decided to approach with caution. two more of it's betheren swooped down to help despose of Raith, each one taking a different side. One of them suddenly charged at his back, while the others came from the front, intending to keep his attention divided.
The pirate that had initially attacked Link screamed as the little boy's sword slashed into his leg. He hadn't counted on a mere child being so difficult. He managed to balance on his other leg (sailors tended to be very nimble) and made a half-hearted slash towards Link's head as his companion stepped next to him and swung at Link's legs, trying to knock the kid off balance. In the process, the second pirate knocked over the first, dropping both of them to the ground, but still managing to make their attacks before their fall.
