And with that and no regret to tug at his heart, he hoisted Alex into his arms and, with a mocking arch of an eyebrow to say his goodbyes, easily tossed the light weight over the edge of the banister. But no worries! The building was high, the fall fatal, and years of sufferings would be over in seconds!
