Subject: Khronos, what level were you in BG2...

...when you killed Firkraag?

At level 9 the only way I could beat him without getting half my party pulverized was to get him stuck in a little room in the upper dungeon and riddle him with arrows from just outside the door (and only after using the fire protection scroll on my archer) while everyone else hid around the corner... I mean, it worked, but it seems kinda cheesy since it's impossible to explain story-wise how Firkraag could've gotten stuck in there in the first place...
