First was with a team right out of the first dungeon and used the fake talk Strategy to kill him. What this involes is pausing the game, clicking on the dragon which makes your character chat to him if unpaused, then force attacking him before unpausing. This allows you 5 seconds before he goes hostile, but if pause the game and do the same thing again before it get to the 6th second you can keep fight him with out him fighting back.

Second with a level 10 or below party that consisted of one fighter and 5 spellcasters. My fighter had a heap of fire protection(amour found in the floor above plus a spell) and I got out 5 summons. I used the summons and the fighter to attack the dragon head on while my spellcasters max out of lighting spells. Firkraag has no resistance to lighting so my casters smashed him.

Last was my fighter who soloed everywhere except the quest that need a NPC in the party and was super leveled. I just let him fight the dragon one on one.
