Subject: Guess who??

Glad to see some faces popping up these days! I still check in and read what people post...but not all that much time for typing! :)

Things are good with us...Kieran is now 8 1/2 months and wanting to be every where...even if he can't quite get around by doing any more than rolling. Joey is in 5th grade and LOVING school again...so much different than last year (let's just say personality conflict wth teacher)...5 As and a B on his report card. Declan LOVES Kindergarten....hates days when there is no school. He wears glasses now and we now have to change his perscription to bifocals--a new trend with kids I hear.

Chris lost his job the week before Thanksgiving...3 weeks ago I guess? We kinda approached this with 'been there done that' and haven't freaked out. The boss called in 5 of the 7 management positions and let them all go...no notice...no severence. Thank all that is good in the world for Chris' mom--who has come through for us in such a big way we could never express how grateful we are!

AND he had a job interview with the City of Nashua (no commute!!!!) on Monday...and a second one on Friday (tomorrow)--although he is the only one they called back for a second interview! It's less money BUT...there is pay for overtime (not unusual for him to work 50-60 hours at old job--on salary), it's a union job--so benefits with that (vacation, sick days, insurance that doesn't cost you through the teeth!) and did I mention NO COMMUTE??? He spent about 3-4 hours a day in the car with last job. It's also a desk job...no more tromping through sites...his ankle is still bad--more surgery in the not-so-distant future.

So can you all keep good thoughts for him tomorrow at 11:30 EST? He so deserves this...I don't always give him the credit he deserves...maybe it's time!

In response to others...Betsy you look WONDERFUL, your parents were very lucky to have you as a daughter...JC any news on what's up yet??...Isabelle I've copied your experiences with breast reduction for when I get this done--a great account of what to expect step by step!!...Michelle the baby you want is out there, patience! My brother and his wife adopted 3 years ago and are trying again. (in their case it isn't what you know but who--SIL's mom is a foster parent). If their experiences would help at all feel free to email me--they were open to special needs and got very lucky in that their son's experiences being born addicted to drugs seems to have no lasting affects.

BTW--Melissa's Harry was home for a few weeks (I think he's gone back to Iraq now)...we didn't get to see him, but then again I haven't seen Melissa in months...I am a bad friend.

I think that's it for now...love to all!!!

[> ((((Christine)))) My internet's been down - I only just read your post, I hope to hear a good news update! Sending you positive thoughts..(no severance?? doesn't even sound legal?) Great that the kids are doing so well; thanks also for the update on Melissa and Harry, keeping them all in my heartprayers.- Looking at the pics from when we all met in person- Harry and the girls in a Mexican restaurant, what fun! I was in Florida last week visiting friends and totally relaxing - it was glorious... Trouble is that upon my return it got BRUTALLY cold here inToronto...brrrr...it WAS bizarre in Fla. though, to see so many houses (with their lovely palm trees and exotic plants) adorned with Christmas lights and lit-up 'moving' reindeer, lifesize plastic glowing snowmen...it was still November (and sweltering) when I arrived! heh, it just FELT wrong ;) and here I am now, going up north on Sunday to cut some cedar, spruc and pine branches for my planters, it really IS December already.. -- Viive (I'm such a northerner, despite being born in New Zealand where Christmas IS in the summer....), 22:47:17 12/08/06 Fri

[> [> Oh Viive, you were in Florida ? Please don't tell me you were minutes away from me ! And yes, it's warm, I love having christmas lights out in the front of the house, the palm trees are lit up in christmas spirit. Last night I took a nice long walk with Brittany in shorts and tee-shirts and we went to admire the neighborhood's christmas decorations 'g' -- Isabelle, 18:42:17 12/12/06 Tue

[> Hey WooooooooHoooooooooooooo's are in order! Christine's hubby got the job. I checked The Kirk this am first. Update on me inside... -- JeanClaire, 08:57:06 12/09/06 Sat

Still limping around over here with that stiff, sore ankle and now a tight jaw(at times also feels like I want to pull a tooth--dentist ruled out anything tooth related)so who knows if it's stress or another symptom. Still running most times with 99.5. I know not techinically a fever but for me I'd say it is. The dr was treating like I had lyme and almost thru with antibiotic round #3(ceftin this time is not pleasant, not going there!!). Two times of blood testing for all lyme levels have come back normal along with arthritic blood screenings.

So next they want me to go for a bone scan on Tuesday and I have a consult with a rheumatolgist later in the month. So I am a bit frustrated in not having an answer yet but I can deal. How do I deal with hubby who just looks at me and sighs??? Just hold me up on Tuesday--thanks!!

[> [> WOW about the job for Chris, thanks for the update Jeannie! And it sounds like you might want to consult a naturopath and or/a GOOD acupuncturist, if you're open to it. I got IMMENSE relief for all kinds of things from everyone except my doctor, for similar types of things. They have other ways of helping diagnose, looking at your whole body/mind/spirit from a holistic angle can come up with amazing results. Eat lots of yogurt and antioxidant rich foods to keep yourself balanced while you're on those antibiotics too! Healing prayers on the way to you, with much love...get better!! -- viive, 11:25:33 12/09/06 Sat

[> H Christin, thank you for the update and of course I'll be having a thought for Chris. I was just wondering about Melissa, it's been so long since we've heard from her. I'm sorry that her husband had to go to Irak! Please if you talk to her, tell her I send her a big hug. I didn't know you were going to have the surgery ? I'm glad if my little experience helps! I had nothing to rely on after my surgery, everything was new to me and I could have use something like this. By the way, it's great now. Still a little sore and still fresh looking scars, but the 'boobies' look good, the back pain is gone, the breathing much better and I've gone back to the gym. Last week I couldn't walk anymore, it had been so long, but this week I've gone to heavier weights and feel good! -- IsabelleKiltup, 18:47:32 12/12/06 Tue

[> Hi Christine! I followed the saga of Chris and his job (and his NEW JOB!!! WOOOOOHOOOOO) on the boards at Lallybroch. Sorry I didn't post here, but I haven't checked SW for a bit. *hanging my head in shame* We should think about having another NE gathering this winter. Jeannie was mentioning that when we were chatting this AM and doesn't it sound like a good idea????? -- Betsy, 23:52:21 12/19/06 Tue

[> No Christine, ... I am a bad friend. I'm ashamed of myself, .. I have become a hermit! Endless it's doing for or with the girls ... I can not believe I have not seen that baby! Well, once, but quickly. Thank you all for remembering Harry. -- Melissa, 20:02:10 01/23/07 Tue
