Subject: I hope you've all had a wonderful Christmastime! Let's share some special moments or family traditions...

I've had a wonderful Christmas week so far. (It would be even more glorious if we had snow, but temperatures above freezing are fine!)
We did something different and special this year, we bought a goat through World Vision, to give to a family in Africa...instead of giving all kinds of little tchotchkas to friends. World Vision Canada has this webpage full of 'gifts':

We had a small gathering this year as my brothers and their kids are all thousands of miles away, over the sea..We invited a student from Estonia to share Christmas with us; he's far from home and was going to be spending the evening all alone. (we celebrate on Christmas eve) It was great fun!
I'd love to hear what you do at Christmastime!

[> i've done that for years for my kids teachers I buy chicks for families. We had a very nice Christmas here in Virginia also to warm for snow but ity was a rainy day. One of our family traditions from my family is whatwe eat for breakfast we call it gushy stuff (eggs, sausage and jack cheese) anyway when I talk to my sisters who are in california and here them making the same breakfast as me makes me feel closer to everyone. Love to you all! -- Reenie, 10:37:15 12/28/06 Thu

[> [> A really special moment for me was that one of my best friends from camp days looked me up! She and her sisters came up from Long Island to our summer camp every year, we only saw each other in the summers, and wrote weekly all winter. I totally lost track of them all when they married and moved. It's actually been about 30 years ;) but who's counting. Anyway she googled and found my brother's work email, and tracked me down through contacting him in Estonia! She's as sunny and wonderful as she always was, so positive and energetic. So we've reconnected, days before her 50th birthday which was on boxing day. -- Viive, 14:58:06 12/28/06 Thu

[> woo Reenie, 'mushy food', heh, I love gooey melted cheese! Does anyone have any good book recommendations? or movies? I'm watching Al Gore's film tonight, "An Inconvenient Truth". Let's start a thread for affirmations for the new year...we could write down a wish or a vision we want to hold strong and all focus on them together, a manifestation exercise...what do you think? (ok enough brainwaves, I'm heading home from work now) ;) -- Viive, 15:53:40 12/28/06 Thu
