Subject: Man has recognized the vibrations or "power" of stones since the beginning of time. Just as herbs possess energies of various kinds, I believe stones do too. Each stone has it's own vibration & it's own power, just as most things in the Universe do. Linda said it very well, stones are connected & part of the Earth & therefore carry the energy of spirit. They are part of the structure of the earth, the very foundation of our "home". Also I think color has alot to do with their properties. Most green stones are associated with healing (a main color associated with the Earth) & also money/abundance. Pinks & reds are the affection stones associated with our red hearts and our lifes blood. The pale blue of blue lace agate is calming to look at & eases our mind etc. As to the correlation between the colors and/or compositions & the metaphysical properties go I'm not sure. I think the answer is one of many mysteries connected to Universe that we are here to ponder. Cool question!

[> Good Question Ann, I would say yes. I like to think of it like a radio, if we want to hear country music we will "tune" to a different channel than a rock station. Minerals vibrate at different frequencies, so we need only choose the correct mineral to enhance what we seek. Metaphysical properties may make the vibrations sound super natural, but they are a part of life, part of nature. Some things are dead, like cement if you put a battery on cement it will drain until empty, but if you put a piece of wood between the cement and battery, the battery will not die. We are bio-electric beings, and therefore the vibrations of our surroundings will affect us as in the example of the battery. Colors are frequencies too, a rose quartz vibrates at a different frequency than white quartz. There are many factors involved, but we can learn what affects what and use them to our advantage. :) -- John Scott, 14:50:02 10/28/03 Tue
