Subject: Fan Behaviour at The Cottage

Is it a given that we are still allowed to criticize the referee and question their parentage or sing 'who's the wan*er in the black/green etc.' or sing 'you don't know what your doing', or 'you're not fit to, you're not fit to, you're not fit to referee, you're not fit to referee'. Because if that gets banned I will have to get my mouth surgically sewn-up.

From H5EE115!

Yes I am the 66 year old that gets a tad excitable when we have poor officials - I was a qualified referee up until I retired 16 years ago and feel that VAR has turned our officials into 'bunny rabbits frozen in the headlights' scared to make a decision in case it gets overturned by VAR. I refereed at U18 and below, mainly in Thurrock, Essex and spent every Sunday during the season having my parentage questioned, let alone have various f and c words hurled in my direction and even once sending a parent off, who at the end moved his car and parked it opposite mine and started revving up his engine in a very intimidating fashion. So I feel dishing out a bit of stick to a fellow colleague is OK!
