- I wouldn't want either, but pressed out of desperation it would be McKenna. At least he has experience of top flight and 2 promotions from the championship, which is a tough league. By contrast Arbeloa is a youth team manager with only 23 games at senior level. He may go on to be a great coach, but it seems too much of a risk for Fulham to take at this stage.         Jim, you're being disingenuous. Trophies and European qualification are an obvious factor in players deciding their future, it doesn't, and shouldn't need explaining. City and Palace are just silly examples. Had we qualified for the Europa league I doubt Wilson would have left.         Think what you get now is players now representing a smaller nation as they know they won’t make it into first team the country they’re born. 96 players at the World Cup were born in France, curacao 23 of 26 were born and majority grew up in Holland, likes of Morocco are just utilising mainly French born with Moroccan heritage. Lots of these smaller nations are putting together major nation C and D teams hence they’re a lot more competitive. If there is any truth in the post below and it does make sense, would this also be included in 'The Project':-

The former BBC Sports Ground in Motspur Park is now a satellite training facility owned by Fulham FC. Acquired in 2017, the site is currently being developed as a state-of-the-art training centre for the club's professional teams and academy, adding significant expansion space to their existing operations in the area.

The former BBC sports facility has a long and complex history:Derelict Period: After sitting disused for over a decade, the old clubhouse on the site suffered a major fire in 2016 and was subsequently demolished. Fulham FC purchased the site directly from Irish businessman Ben Dunne, integrating the land into their overall training ground footprint. The club secured planning permission from Kingston Council to install full-sized pitches, under-soil heating, and temporary welfare and security buildings.

Long-Term Vision: The club continues to expand the site, aiming to transition the First and Under-23 teams here, while utilizing their older Motspur Park site entirely for academy operations.

Maybe, it was Marco's reluctance to be fully in charge of this part of 'The Project', preferring that the Club bring in somebody else to do this job, leaving him to fully manage the first team squad, saw him depart the Club. This was never going to work with Marco because the overall success of 'The Project', ensuring that the Club actually becomes sustainable and even profitable relies on the Manager/Coach and all staff totally buying into it!

- Owners could have built it and doubled the Accademy intake years ago. But just let the site rot for half a decade. Its clear thay wanted to sell. But Trumps 'war' scuppered any deals. The Current kids, due to a few factors have drained talent and also don't have the top level talent . - Marco is very similar to most of the England players last night in that he always prefers to take the safe option, rather than taking a chance of going forward by risking that by doing so may be detrimental in the short term. Even when we had just one central striker, he was never prepared to give JKA an real time on the pitch, let alone bring in an Academy player. Whilst in agreement that most of the recent big money signings might still come good for us , why at the time when we were pursuing a soon to be 30 year old CH with zero pace and willing to offer him a long contract did no one take Silva aside and say look this isn’t the best move for the Club. Let us find you at least 1 alternative ( as indeed Palace did after) who will offer many of the same attributes ? Answer ? They didn’t have a clue who if anyone to suggest . Just as they didn’t have a clue Silva was going to let them down and not sign , despite every indication he was procrastinating telling them. It’s naivety , blind loyalty , and a reluctance to put a people and a workable system in place. Now as mentioned Arbeloa will no way make public his demands the way Silva regularly needed to. Oh and not least , how well was the Process thought through that we went from Slot and Amorim to Arbeloa?? Tracking his career for years were we ??
