Yesterdays fiasco of Refereeing and Assistant Refereeing shows why VAR is not fit for purpose. It has made highly paid officials into effing useless ones. They are so used to having their incompetence corrected by VAR they are shown to be overpaid useless twits! The sooner VAR is binned and officials do the job they are paid to do properly the better. It isn't used outside the EPL and they are all the better for it!

- Easier to improve VAR than magically create better quality referees. Kavanagh was awful yesterday as he often is but the game is so quick and players so expert in fooling referees that we need VAR. As badly as we played in that first half we did have an opportunity to equalise which Wilson did not take. When we did break their high press albeit far too infrequently we did look dangerous. The truth is we were far too lethargic in the first twenty minutes. We moved the ball far too slowly and continually gave away possession when trying to play out. What we should have done is played the ball between the lines having players on the hal turn and getting the ball forward more quickly. We also should have mixed it up a bit by playing a few balls over the top together them retreating. We have the pace out wide too this but we were far too negative and paid the price by conceding early which is the last thing you want to do against a top side. The first goal a terrible mistake coming of Bergh's head. The second from a breakaway after we were attacking again poor defending. The second was better but the game was over, I thought Bassey looked strong on his return ,maybe we would have been better playing three at the back as some have mentioned. We needed more calmness in midfield and more inventiveness. A lot too learn but hopefully we will come away stronger over the next few games. Thought King looked sharp and full of running when he came on.

But having heard from the very few Forest Fans I do know that Silva is their No: 1 Target this summer , their Fan TV are now saying that Marinakis wants Silva ‘come hell or high water ‘. It may be nonsense and ( as earlier ) the chosen few on here can deflect the subject but with Contracts still not signed this could be a big test for our Great Leader and his Wonderful Son, both so full of unbridled admiration for their Manager that they’ve given him Every Position in Every Window he has wanted . Their absence means nothing as they pour heartfelt affections to the ‘Best Manager our DoF has ever worked with’. Maybe some will rejoice at the chance of a change , whilst others might reflect on exactly what is meant by ‘fully backing ‘. Perhaps it means being allowed some but not all of your targets , perhaps it means that however much you might bemoan our procrastination on certain deals ( recently to very little reward ) you are always going to be over-ridden by someone who spends the majority of his working time addressing ‘Sports Entertainment’ in another Continent .   - I’d also add not selling players, we took Anderson off palace, glasner rated him very highly, sold Palhina, Mitro & arguably AP, but not a lot else. Compare that to how many Palace, Bournemouth, BHA and others have sold over same time period. - My issue with Silva is that he's dragging his contract situation out. Either stay or go - it's that simple. It's possible to push things to the point that people stop caring. A couple of months ago I really wanted MS to stay but now I'm indifferent to whatever decision he makes. The club have backed him as much as they can, with even Silva congratulating them on the Bobb signing. So he needs to stop messing everyone around and make his position clear.   - Interesting you changed your position, I generally agree with where you are now, vast majority want him to stay, but it’s not a beg and grovel situation, we’ve folded in big moments in cups, wages say we finish roughly where we should. Of course, as a fan spanning over 4 decades, I want to back a decent manager in the hope he can continue to stabilise the future of Fulham in top flight. But, the club always comes first and when a manager seems to be playing silly buggers or holding the club to ransom, especially after the chairman provided the opportunity to resurrect a dwindling career, that manager is welcome to use the exit. - Obtaining the services of seriously good players with possible resale value is not a matter of ticking off a shopping list and more to do with knitting skills for eventually achieving a broad plan or strategy. See time and build lapses between end of Arsene Wenger era and the current Arsenal effort. My humble view is that a further two or three quality additions over reasonable time will have potential to achieve.
