the stats do not often lie so if you, like me, were starting to believe that his signing was not a great one, just look at his stats for the Premier League last season where he played 33 games, compared to all the other central defenders:-

Aerial Win Percentage: With a 71.8% aerial win rate, Andersen ranks 3rd overall among all Premier League center-backs. He trails only Harry Maguire (74.7%) and Virgil van Dijk (74.4%).
Long Passing & Switches: Andersen ranks 1st among all Premier League center-backs for accurate long passes and field switches. His ability to launch progressive counters surpasses elite distributors like John Stones.
Clearances & Blocks: He finished the season 3rd in the league for total clearances (328), putting him side-by-side with James Tarkowski as the league's premium "box-defending" anchors.

So, just maybe, with a new Coach, playing a team that will protect him better he will up his game even more, eliminate the silly mistakes and prove us all wrong!

- From the sound of it, my starting position on Anderson resembles yours, but what you cite there is frankly hard to ignore. - He is quite an extreme player stats-wise. He's good in a lot of key metric and yet overall I think he's been a negative for the side. - At £6 million, and given his under 21 performances, doesn't seem like much of a risk to me. He's still very young but clearly demonstrates excellent technical prowess and an eye for goal in the U21's for both Bayern & Fulham. That skill can't be coached, it's natural, and needs to be developed and acclimatised to the premier league. He's also a unit, height wise, and once he fills out will be a handful. - Excellent. What's not to like? Young, highly-regarded player. We have no idea what the buy-back looks like: match best offer, €40m, €60m... Who knows? Muniz + JKA + one other and we'll have a nice-looking striker force with similar strength at wide forward and No. 10 as long as we sign a Wilson replacement or re-sign Chuckwaeze. A good start, I'd say. One less hole to fill, High upside, low downside given the price and the fact we've already had a year with him.         I struggle to really think of many sitters that he missed last season. We simply weren't creating the chances at the back end of the season. The odd header here and there that he could have done better with, but sitters? I don't remember any.         After an OK start to last season he got injured and hasn't scored since. This understandbly arouses much adverse comment. The two previous seasons, he'd scored at a high ratio per minute, attracting recruiters at Leeds and Atalanta. Less mystery about any of that than what happens next. People may think his current shambolic form is below par, but his hot streak was above par and that his average level isnt quite what we need to lead the line. - For me the ones to ‘drop off ‘ will be those without pace , ie Andersen , ESR, TC/Reed , Castagne and unless he improves possibly Muniz . 3 new additions to ‘immediately impact the squad ‘ I think will be a CF, a ball carrying CM and a dominant CH to take Andersen’s place . Of course there is the matter of Wilson and Chukwueze to replace ,not forgetting the inevitable overall depth strengthening needed .
