Subject: Exactly that. With typical understatement of that generation, my mother said the V1's were not a problem all the time you could hear them - this from Wembley/Willesden! Whereas my father in North Africa with the Eighth Army described being bombed in the desert sand as not particularly troublesome unless they scored a direct hit and that my mother had it worse in the Blitz. They met a couple of years after the war.
