Subject: I asked my AI assistant: the reply was the full XV rugby would be worse for the pitch - more players, more intensity and volume for scrums and rucks, longer matches (although I am guessing each event would have more than one match). Intuitively that makes sense to me but I am also no expert
In reply to: Same Old Story 's message, "I'm absolutely no expert, but interestingly if you put that into google, its says the opposite - that 7's is more likely to damage the surface 'faster, more dynamic play leading to more running and tackling can lead to faster detoriation due to the sheer volume of play'." on Thursday, July 17, 11:04:23am

  • Almost definitely not the case. My dad was groundsman at a rugby school in London and I used to hear all his stories about it. (NT) -- JimĀ© The Devon IP, Thursday, July 17, 03:48:59pm (62-64-192-58.virtual1.co.uk/62.64.192.58)
  • As i say, not an expert mate. I personally still wouldn't expect it to be good for the pitch - but if any damage is offset by commercial gain its worth it. Theyve got to get people using that stand somehow. (NT) -- Same Old Story, Friday, July 18, 09:14:58am (NoHost/84.65.24.234)
