In reply to: Mr Kurkuruza 's message, "Im no apologist for the current Labour administration. They struggle to take responsibility for most of their decisions. Im curious to know what options other than redundancy and outsourcing were on the table for your organisation? But anyway, the main thrust of my post is about the future for our children and Grandchildren. Where will their income come from? What will they likely do to make life worthwhile or sustainable?" on Wednesday, April 22, 03:47:15pm

I don't know that my organisation had any other choices, particularly. Its a direct reaction to a government policy which put £300m on the operating costs of the company. The only way to recover that is to remove a sufficient level of staff, or pass the increases onto the customer. They chose the former. My specific part of the company had 160 employees. 8 survived, and i was one of the lucky ones. But i'm sure Rach will come up with something soon which means the eye of mordor comes around again. And then gaslight us all by lying about the economy being resilient.

In terms of 'the future' its a good and fair question. I can't see my kids being in the country when they're adults, in reality. I'd steer them towards something agricultural, because the countries where I could escape to have more opportunities in that sector. But it depends on the individual and the situation, really.
