The situation is now beyond tedious. This speculation wouldn't be happening if Silva signed a new contract. It seems rather obvious that he's waiting to see if a better opportunity presents itself. Agree. But if the club is as well run as a I suspect it now is, it doesn't really matter if Silva leaves. The fact is, from a transfer market perspective, Silva has not been pandered to.
