Subject: Presumably sees little upside left for his career with us and sees how people have jumped above him managing in crappier leagues with consistent European football (see e.g. Postecoglu, Amorin). He's rehabilitated his disloyalty reputation with us and the popular narrative is still he's been hamstrung by a lack of support, but that narrative is likely to slip given we've sold very few players and he's had a run of big signings for two years. So now's the right time to cut bait if he can.
