currently is surely in his best bargaining position ever to ‘Push’ the Club forward into implementing ( let’s face it ) what most Fans know needs to be done . Namely a complete revamp of the Recruiting Team inc Head and Scouts. As much as he has preferred experience in players , I cannot believe he wouldn’t welcome working in tandem with people whose vision is to build a Squad for both now and long term leaning far more to the model of our close competitors who always seem to capably replenish their squads regularly as and when required. Were any alternatives to the likes of eg Andersen offered to him when Palace were demanding that ludicrous fee? Look at how they replaced him with someone both half the price and younger with better long term prospects and yes sell-on value . Most here feel the amounts paid for the likes of Kevin and ESR have yet to be justified , but were alternatives put forward by our recruitment team? I really do not believe Silva wants Total Control over targets , yet it is hard to imagine just what exactly the ‘greater’ control being offered will actually be . As for the alleged doubling of the salary , do they really think his achievements justify this or more than likely , is this the cost of what they hope will continue to keep the DoF and the yes-men happy as they continue to contribute so little . If Silva succeeds it’ll surely be good for his eventual successor to know they will be coming in to an established and successful set-up where they’ll be fully supported but not just in having empty funds thrown their way in the assumption that this will keep them happy .
