Was your father baffling too? As a conservative, his political views were probably closer to reform than perhaps you'd care to admit. I came from a poor working class background too. My father voted conservative and my mother old Liberal. I believe in small government, think people should be left to live their lives without interference or reliance on the state. So that will always rule out left wing parties for me, even though I have some left leaning views. -- SW6.doc

If everyone else stays the same, and a load of people with no income join, the overall 'equality' rating goes down. Its absolutely standard migration impact on socio-economic indicators.         All anecdotal, unprovable nonsense. It is published fact, that the majority of migrants - when including those on dependent visa's do not contribute. Look at the ethnicity of people in social housing in most of our big cities. There's a clear downwards turn in contributors vs absorbers and some of the worst countries on the equality ranking are making up an increasing member of our immigrant population and you're then surprised that our socio-economic indicators are following suit.         Pretty sure points one and three are facts.The equality rating being referred to(by me)only includes supposed first world countries.Working class British natives are part of the equation.In Hemel some people(English)are given accommodation even if they own property.I’m sure it doesn’t apply to the bigger cities.Plenty of young British people not working as well.I’m out it’s going nowhere.
