Subject: NFR Paris riots

Has anyone else seen the news from France? There's been yet another outbreak of serious unrest, with large groups involved in violence, disorder, and attacks on public infrastructure. Obviously the scenes themselves are deeply concerning, but I do think the conversation needs to go a bit deeper than simple condemnation.

At some point France has to look inwards and ask what support systems may have been lacking here. What economic pressures, social inequalities, or barriers to opportunity contributed to people reaching this point? France also can't ignore the impact years of Far Right rhetoric may be having on people's sense of belonging and ability to integrate into wider society.

It's very easy to focus on the symptoms, the causes are a bit more uncomfortable.
