  • I know you are a journalist, so know these things much better. But isn't there also a thing in PR where its sometimes best to just let something play out. It seems to me that Marco is doing the PR work for us right now; laying the groundwork for his departure in such a way that no fan will be either surprised, or particularly devastated.       • I always assume it's one of three things: idle gossip by an insider who shouldn't be speaking, a fabrication, or a deliberate media plant by a party involved (agent, one of the clubs, etc.). The complete lack of anything from our side implies, to me, some sort of discipline being applied internally, so potentially some deliberate strategy being taken.       • I just wonder what good it does the club to make a statement versus keeping quiet. Does anyone beyond the most dedicated fans, such as those on here, actually care? Does it ease the anxiety of those fans or increase it? Does it make the club look stronger or weaker to speak when it has no firm answer?         • Could understand reticence (and admire lack of leakage) until literally midnight. And it's true that few other than obsessives will have noticed. But it's now inescapably offensive not just to outrage junkies but to average obsessives and, even if you pay no heed to that... simply untenable.           • I'm an optimist. I think there are things cooking. Have quite literally nothing to base that on other than a genuinely positive vibe that this is the most stable I can ever remember our club (PL status + ground) and a feeling that one way or the other (with or without Marco), things are going to work out for the best here.     • The bottom line is that, as proven on many previous occasions, the club really don't give a toss about the fans. The only caveat to that might be the season ticket renewal situation, but I'm sure they think they can sell out any not taken up renewals at an increased rate.           • Indeed. Can only hope the comms people aren't squirming, but have been burning midnight oil with something about to gain the green light as soon as Jacksonville awakes. Still just possible at time of writing, but by tonight no benefit of doubt remains regarding comms. (And more to be worried about than comms is the real point!)
