Subject: Dear Tony Khan

Marco Silva has left. I'm sure you know that, although given how often you're actually paying attention to this football club, I wouldn't stake money on it. Five years. One Championship title. Four seasons of Premier League stability built on goodwill, hard work, and a manager who cared about this club more than the people above him seem to. Not sacked, not tapped on the shoulder, but walked. That's on you.

Last summer's transfer window was a shambles. Months of planning reduced to a deadline-day scramble. Silva had been promised time - time to bed new signings in early, to build cohesion before the season started. What he got instead was panic buying in the final hours and a squad stitched together in the dark, its weaknesses visible from space. That Marco Silva almost got that squad into Europe is nothing short of miraculous. And now he's gone.

Funny how these things happen when the man nominally in charge of football operations is also running two professional wrestling promotions, an NFL franchise's strategy department, and whatever else he and his father have acquired along the way. Because that's the reality of what you are, Tony. Nominal. Nominally Vice Chairman. Nominally Director of Football Operations. Nominally General Manager. Nominally Sporting Director. You're far too busy with your other roles to be anything more. President, CEO and head booker of AEW. President, CEO and head booker of Ring of Honor. Chief Football Strategy Officer at Jacksonville. Owner and chairman of TruMedia Networks. Founder of Activist Artists Management. Not one of them appears to be "person who watched us lose to Southampton in the FA Cup and felt something die inside."

And here's the part that really sticks in the throat. You've openly boasted - in your own words, to the Hollywood Reporter - that your position at Fulham is what got you into the room with ITV's Director of Sport. That the relationships you built through this club are what gave AEW its UK television deal. You called it an advantage. Your words, not mine. Fulham opened doors for you. Fulham gave you credibility, connections, a foothold in British sport. And what did Fulham get back? Deadline-day chaos and a manager who eventually stopped believing the promises.

Your father has been, on balance, a decent owner - he backed the manager, backed the stadium, and largely stayed out of the way. You'd be well advised to do the same. We need a Director of Football who does the job. All of it. All year. All in.
