Subject: Frank Lampard?

I'm not sure if he's genuinely in the running but would Frank Lampard be as bad an appointment as some are suggesting?

Of course he's got the Chelsea history but we've had many, many players over the years who played for "them" before seeing the error of their ways and moving to us! Gordon Davies even left us to join them but was was still welcomed back to the cottage when he returned a few years later.

I saw quite a bit of Coventry last season, the football they play is attacking and good..... a definite style that the Fulham fans would like.

After initially thinking that I don't want Lampard anywhere near our club I'm now thinking that he probably wouldn't be a bad appointment especially given his experience of the Premier League which is something that of lot of the potential new manager/head coach do not have.

What do you reckon?

I could understand him jumping ship for a big club, but why would he make a sideways move to us. He must have built a vision for the Coventry players which would be in tatters if he left so easily and he would be liable to do the same to us. He has a project at Coventry to complete. I personally wouldn't want him at Fulham but he's probably the best option from the names we're being linked with. His achievements with Coventry are quite remarkable, particularly given the financial restrictions. I think they're first club to be promoted as Champions without Premier League parachute payments. I'm surprised at the apathy towards his past from many. I know a lot dont consider them proper rivals, but he's literally one of their club legends, not some bloke who played 30 games for them. He also used to score goal after goal against us, regularly goaded our fans after, and bought our best home pub and converted it to flats. It just shouldnt be a consideration.
