Subject: Going after Tristan
In reply to: Jeremy and all 's message, "Back to normal, whatever that means" on 10:26:00 11/06/01 Tue

Jeremy pulled away from Marz and sat up in the bed when he heard someone enter the room. "I knew I shoulda locked that stupid door," he muttered, catching sight of Tristan tripping on the carpet before he turned to run back into the hall. Feeling movement on the bed he turned to face Marz, who had also seen the dragon and was now struggling to sit up. "You're not strong enough to get out of bed yet, dude. The Queen said you'd be all healed up by morning but right now you need to rest."

When Jeremy reached out to try to ease Marz back down, the ex-gang leader pushed his hands away. "This isn't a dream is it, you raking bastard?"

Frowning in confusion, Jeremy shook his head. "Dunno what you're talking about, Marz. You're wide awake but probably still a little dazed and confused considering how badly injured you got."

The ex-gang leader ignored the pain in his back and once again tried to sit up. Weakly, he slapped Jeremy right across the face when he tried to stop him this time. "Keep your raking paws off me kid, or I swear I'll wring your scrawny neck!"

Jeremy rubbed his cheek and backed away, allowing Marz to succeed in getting himself into a seated position. Dizziness assaulted him but he wasn't about to give into the sensation because he needed to get to Tristan and explain. Explain what? How in bloody hell was he supposed to explain why he ended up in bed with Jeremy when he had no idea how he got here?

"You really need to lie down, Marz before you pull all the stitches out of your back."

His dark eyes came up to stare at the freaky youth. Using whatever strength he could muster, he grabbed Jeremy by his multi-colored hair, nearly snapping his neck.

"Ouch!" the youth cried, trying to pry Marz's fingers away, but his grip was like a vise.

"Why am I here with you instead of with Tristan in the room we share?" Marz asked, in a deadly tone of voice. "Straight answers punk or I rip your hair out strand by ugly strand." To emphasis his point, Marz tugged a little harder, bring tears to Jeremy's eyes.

"After Tristan passed out, I had Justin bring you to my room so that I could take care of you," the youth said in a rush.

"Was taking advantage of me while I was out cold part of the plan, you moron?" When Jeremy didn't answer immediately, Marz threatened to slam his face into the headboard.

"It was an accident," he cried. "I thought you liked me and wanted me as much as I wanted you so I didn't think you'd mind us being in bed together."

When the room began to spin, Marz let go of the youth's hair and pushed him away. He lowered his head then closed his eyes, fighting off another wave of the ungodly dizziness.

"I told you that you're still weak!" Jeremy said, while rubbing his head and trying not to sniffle.

Once he felt a little better, Marz opened his eyes and swung his legs off the bed. He managed to stand but had to hold onto to the dresser to keep from falling flat on his ass. His back felt as if it was on fire, and every muscle in his body seemed to scream at him. When he finally realized that he wouldn't be running after Tristan anytime soon, he attempted to send him a mind message, but he couldn't focus properly enough to do it.

"Okay, we'll take it one step at a time then," he muttered. He moved forward then bit his lip to keep from screaming at the stabbing sensation that ran from the base of his spine to his neck.

When he noticed that Jeremy was beside him, trying to give him aid, he hissed at the youth. "Get the hell away from me. You caused enough trouble already, idiot!" With gritted teeth he pushed past Jeremy, not even thinking about the fact that he was naked as he struggled to get to the doorway. Several times along the way, he had to stop to convince himself that he was NOT going to pass out. At least not until after I've smoothed things over with Tris.

The light in the outer hall nearly blinded him, and after blinking a few times, he saw Rowan leaning against the wall a few feet away with his back to him. Forcing himself to move on, he staggered toward the elf. Rowan turned when he heard the shuffle of feet behind him, catching Marz as he fell right into his arms. Luckily the ex-gang leader wasn't heavy enough to knock them both off their feet. "I need you to get Tristan for me so I can explain," Marz whispered, meeting the elf's eyes before he lost consciousness.

Jeremy cleared his throat from the doorway of his room. "I can help you carry him back to his room if you want. He'll kill me if he wakes up in my bed again." The otherworldly youth hung his head and fiddled with a loose thread on his underwear. "I thought that when he found me taking care of him, he'd be all happy and would want to make love to me, but I guess I was wrong."
