Author: Jeremy and all
Subject: Back to normal, whatever that means

Jeremy sat down by Justin after Laurel finished tending to his minor cuts. He pulled out a tiny orange pill from his sack, placing it under the merc's tongue where it would dissolve. The otherworldly youth wasn't sure what kind of medicine it was that he just dished out, but knew it energized a person. Kinda like drinking twenty cups of strong coffee all at once, he mused.

When Justin stirred then sat up, Jeremy grinned. At least now he knew that the pill overrode the effects of whatever was mixed into the food that caused everyone to become drowsy. After giving the merc a rushed explanation of what happened, Jeremy moved to Laurel, who just finished stitching up the big hole in Marz's back. "You might want to give this to Rowan," he whispered, handing her one of the orange pills. "It should wake him up, like real quick!"

Once Ravin retrieved his throwing knives, he sat down by the table and tore off a strip from a section of the tablecloth that was still dry. The cloth bandage around his thigh was bloody and needed changing. After removing the cloth, he discovered that a few of the stitches had ripped open but didn't think that was too big a deal. He secured the strip of tablecloth around the wound then leaned back in the chair and drank from his ale flask.

The thief's stomach growled loudly, reminding him that he hadn't eaten anything at all today. A glance at the multitude of food splattered across the floor made him shake his head. It was a damn shame that such a lovely banquet had been spoiled.

As he took another sip of ale, his thoughts turned to Erlic. He had seen the older thief pull a small mirror from his pocket, before running out of the room. Was the guildmaster so vain that he needed to check his appearance once the bloody battle was over? Ravin doubted it. There was something special about that little mirror, and it piqued his curiosity.

When Laurel moved away from Marz to tend to Tia's shoulder wound, Jeremy glanced at Tristan, who was in a deep sleep, before he approached Justin. The merc was wide awake now and looking a bit upset about missing the battle that had occurred. "Can you carry Marz up to my room, Justin?" he asked. "He's going to need someone to watch over him tonight because of that grave injury and I just volunteered for the job."

The mercenary nodded then lifted the ex-gang leader's body into his arms with ease. He followed Jeremy up to his room, depositing his burden on the large bed before retreating. The otherworldly youth closed the door then filled a basin with water. Injuries like the one Marz had were often accompanied by fever because that was the body's way of warding off any infection that might be setting in.

Knowing that it was important not to let a fever get too high, Jeremy sat beside Marz and applied a damp, cool cloth to his forehead. Very carefully, he unlaced Marz's torn shirt and removed it then ran the cool rag over his chest a few times. I'll be the first person you see when you wake up! he thought happily, while re-wetting the cloth and placing it on his Marz's forehead again.

Jeremy retrieved a can of soda from his pack. He took a long drink, set the can down then went about removing Marz's weapons and boots. "It's best to make you as comfortable as possible," he muttered.

Once he had the ex-gang leader completely undressed, Jeremy stripped down to his underwear and crawled into bed. He eased his head down on Marz's shoulder then covered them with the blanket before closing his eyes. A grin came to his mouth when he realized that he was actually going to sleep with the person he was in love with. Hopefully, when Marz sees how I took care of him, he'll want to be with me all the time!

Eremis was shocked when he saw all the severe injuries Dalo had received. The man was pretty damned lucky to be alive! The healer opened his medicine bag and immediately got to work. Of course, he wondered why the beastmaster's wounds no longer bled, but was grateful for such a miracle because that made stitching them up a lot easier!

Since he didn't have to worry about any further blood loss at the moment, Eremis took his time. The neat, little stitches he made would leave less scaring later. When he finished, he applied salve to each of the wounds then covered them with clean, cloth bandages. Once the beastmaster was conscious, he would feed him herbal tea that would help him regain his strength.

Eremis tucked the blanket around Dalo and went off to take care of Erlic. He removed the blood-filled bandage then closed the guildmaster's wound with a number of stitches before wrapping a clean strip of cloth around it. The healer knew he wasn't strong enough to lift Erlic onto the bed, so he made him as comfortable as possible right on the floor where he was.

When Justin returned to the dining hall, he glanced at the unconscious bodies of Tristan, Corum, and Rowan. "Do ya want me to carry anyone else up to their rooms or ya gonna just let them sleep here?" he asked, turning his eyes to Laurel, since she seemed to be in charge of the injured right now.

Tia was about to offer to watch over Rowan tonight, but changed her mind when it dawned on her that Laurel would probably stay with her brother. "You can carry Corum up to my room," she told Justin.

Tia stopped to thank Laurel for taking care of her shoulder before she turned back to the merc, who scooped Corum into his arms. She grabbed the youth's staff from the floor then glanced at the sleeping Rowan before she followed Justin out of the room.

Ravin let out a deep sigh as he got to his feet and limped toward the kitchen. "My growling stomach won't quiet down no matter how much ale I feed it!" he said, aloud. "Since we can't trust the food that was already prepared, I guess I'll have to cook up something fresh."

He paused by the kitchen door, and grinned at the women in the dining room. "Actually, about the only thing I know how to do is boil water. Anyone want to give me a hand in whipping up something quick to eat from that well-stocked kitchen?"
