In reply to: Barry 's message, "Spin the bottle? Count me in!" on 19:37:43 04/03/02 Wed

Corum suddenly looked around him, and realized that playing spin the bottle wouldn’t be all that great. Maybe Marz might appreciate it, since it didn’t bother him who he kissed, but Corum wasn’t like that. He stood up, and started to think of something Jeremy had told him.

“Hey!” Corum stated. “Since there’s only two woman, why not play treasure hunt? Jeremy told me about it, and all you gotta do is find some items in this underground cavern.” Barry seemed displeased at his idea since the skull was looking forward to getting kissed by the only two women in the group. When asked how to proceed, Corum laid it all out for everyone.

“OK,” he began. “Here’s the deal. The object is to find items in this underground village, nothing hard, but then again nothing easy either.” He got some parchment from Val, and a quill, and quickly wrote down some items. When he was finished, he read it aloud, and then handed it to everyone. “Now everyone’s gotta leave their pack behind, because some of you already have the items in question. The one that collects the most items in thirty minutes is considered the winner.”

On the list were the following items they needed to find: a leather cord, a fresh bar of soap, a quill, a feather, deck of cards, unopened pack of cigarettes, a straight razor, a hand mirror, a lock of blonde hair, a spyglass, a wooden kitchen spoon, a blue java mug, the largest bowl possible, a book on boats, a thimble, unused torch, unopened bottle of scented bath oil, jar of ink, brown boots, cape, and green leggings. Of course once Val read the articles on the list, he quickly picked up Jamal, and notified everyone that the bird was off limits. Obviously everyone laughed at this move, while Tia suddenly put her hands to her hair, and gave everyone a hands off type of look.

“Everyone can bring as many items even if someone else happens to find identical items. The idea is to find as many, and be declared the winner. You can’t use your own clothes, so that’s out,” Corum continued. “All backpacks remain behind, and obviously, and above all, no cheating.” Corum simply rolled his eyes at this comment. “I mean everyone here is on the up, and up, right????”

Erlic, and Argus remained in the water as they watched the game of spin the bottle change to treasure hunt. If nothing else, it would definitely boost the morale of the group, and it would make everyone think a bit. The guild master wondered just who would be able to find the most items, and silently placed a bet on Ravin. Ravin was a good thief, and was quite proficient at finding what he needed to find. Of course Marz might come in a strong second; or Rowan for that matter. It would be a good toss up.

“I’m sorry to hear about your family,” Erlic answered, as he continued to watch the others, as well as Argus. Since he hadn’t really been familiar with having a family, he didn’t know what it was like to lose a loved one. He had many good friends, but didn’t consider them family per se.

Erlic listened as Argus recalled the tale of the woman he fancied by the name of Giselle. Here the two of them had spent some time together, and she finally went out, and found someone she preferred. From the sounds of eight children, it was quite obvious that the woman wanted a big family.

Erlic wondered if Jade was the bird that he had fallen for. He recalled Argus’ words about Giselle, and how her eyes could melt ice, and how her smile could make a fellow do anything she wanted. It seemed that Jade could do that to him, and it almost unnerved him, but in a different way. He realized that he could still maintain his coldness should the need arise when facing a danger, but he also realized that she had a charm about her that he simply enjoyed.

“So how far into the training of cleric did you attain?” Erlic asked as he continued to watch the others.
