Author: Isobel
Subject: Concern for friends
In reply to: Marz and Ravin 's message, "Tryiing to cope with things" on 10:17:27 02/08/02 Fri

Isobel had never been to Bizmar, but she had heard rumors of what a vile, fiend-infested place it was. She was slightly shocked to learn that this infamous cesspool was where her compadres were from. She knew that some of them were more than the mere adventurers they had presented themselves to her as when she had first arrived at Queen Kazabet's palace, and she knew that Ravin was a thief and suspected that Erlic was, too (although he was obviously not some street thief, nor was Ravin -- both had strong leadership qualities that any mere pickpocket would never possess). But she couldn't reconcile the stories she had heard of the dreaded Bizmar with the people she knew. Perhaps, as with many stories, they were worse than the reality.

When Erlic explained the situation to everyone, she could see that Ravin was even more shaken. She put her hand on his arm in a gesture of comfort, but he suddenly jumped up and said in a desperate voice, "I don't know how you got this information, nor do I care. What I would like to know is if there's a way you can get word back to someone in Bizmar immediately."

He explained his visions of the Rovers and Eremis (who she gathered had left Neromba just prior to her arrival at the palace) and Jake, which she took to be people Ravin knew and cared about back in Bizmar, and she immediately understood the reason for his pale, drawn look. So... Seņor Ravin was also a seer! There were certainly many surprises she had yet to discover about the people around her. They were all so talented, had so many special gifts... suddenly she felt very small and very ordinary.

Poor Ravin then went on to express concern for his family and the need to know if they were all right. Isobel's heart ached for him. She had no family any longer, but well she knew the feeling of waiting... not knowing if her father would return from a mission or not, unable to do anything to help him.

Ravin suddenly stalked off by himself, no doubt wrapped in thoughts of his friends so far away, perhaps thinking of a way to help them. She wanted to run after him, to say something comforting, but she knew that she did not know the people he was worried about and had no clear grasp of the situation other than what Erlic had relayed.

She listened to Marz and Tristan, her mind working... these people would now be after Ravin and Erlic, she knew. Her brow knit in a frown and she stood, slowly approaching Ravin. She did not wish to disturb him if he wanted to be alone, but she felt a need to say something. "Seņor Ravin..." she wanted to hold him, to try to comfort him, but she was unsure it would be appropriate. "I do not wish to disturb you now, but I wanted you to know... I hope your friends will be all right and... I will be proud to fight along side you and Erlic and Marz... and the others, too... I know they will help. I stand beside you, my sword ready to defend you or slay your enemies, if I can. I..." she trailed off, at a loss. Then she touched his arm lightly and turned to go.
