Subject: Isobel takes a nap
In reply to: Ravin 's message, "Time to get the healer" on 10:15:39 12/19/01 Wed

Isobel was exhausted, although she felt oddly energized by the battle. She probably would not have attempted to kill the native woman if her bloodlust had not been high at that moment. However, she did not regret striking the woman, who she considered deserving of worse.

When Ravin said something about getting the healer she headed out of the cave, raising an eyebrow at the sight of Barry and Laurel. She shook her head and had to grin. That skull was incorrigible.

She stalked back to the fire, glancing at Justin laying on the ground. "Borracho," she said with a chuckle to herself. Her arms were dotted with odd ring-shaped red marks where the suckers on the beast's tentacles had burned her. She had a gash on her thigh and her elbows were skinned, but all in all she felt she had come out of the encounter in rather good shape. Certainly better than some of the others. So she wasn't in a hurry to run off to see the healer yet. Her weapons, on the other hand, needed immediate attention.

She sat down beside the fire and began to clean first her sword, then her daggers and Muerte. They were covered with disgusting slime and they were wet. She did not want to ruin the blades, so she was careful to dry them well.

As she worked, she heard the tribal chief apologizing to Ravin and attempting to make amends. Isobel snorted softly. She did not believe the man for one moment, but kept her thoughts to herself. Her compadres were not foolish and they would realize these people were not as innocent as they pretended.

Isobel finished her task and sat for a moment watching the others, her wet hair stringing down around her shoulders and her clothing clinging to her. She began to shiver and wished she had some other clothes to change into, but that would have to wait until they found a place to trade. She got up and moved closer to the fire, sitting down beside Ravin as she sheathed her weapons. Rubbing her hands together as she held them close to the fire, she said, "Well, Seņor Ravin. This is certainly an eventful start to our quest." She grinned. "And you still owe me three minutes in a cave."

She had begun to feel thick-headed and extremely tired. She dismissed it as being caused by the day's events. She did not want to appear weak in front of the others, so she decided to turn in for the night. She tried to stand, but slumped against Ravin's shoulder. She struggled to sit up. "Excuse me... I am suddenly very tired," she slurred. "I think I will turn in for the ..." she was unable to finish the thought as she crumpled, dropping to the dirt with a soft thud. The poison from the monster's suction cups had begun its work.
