Marz nearly went into shock when he felt Tristan's hand slowly sliding up along his thigh. The damn dragon was definitely full of surprises lately! The ex-gang leader wasn't about to complain though, since he craved such little signs of affection from his lover. He just wasn't accustomed to getting anything resembling closeness from the normally standoffish Tristan in public, and had to wonder if he was ill or something.

When the dragon pulled his hand away abruptly, Marz nodded his head. There's the Tristan I know and.......love. It felt strange to admit having such feelings for someone. There was still a part of him that regretted losing his heart to the dragon because he was pretty positive that their relationship wouldn't last. Tristan was bound to get fed up with him at some point and go off to fall in love with someone more compatible……..like Eremis. Marz knew that he would then have to deal with the pain of a broken heart. Why not? he smirked. Pain had been a major part of his life, and it was inevitable that he got to experience the worst of it from the people he came to love.

"Well, I wouldn't really want Marz getting hurt again," the dragon said, suddenly.

Marz nearly laughed aloud, knowing that someday Tristan would hurt him more than any assassin or monster he encountered. When the dragon suggested that someone get Alakbar a weapon, he jumped to his feet and rushed off to speak with the chieftain of the tribe. Marz returned a short time later with a sheath housing a curved, double-edged dagger and a spear. "I traded a couple of gems for these weapons," he said, handing the items to Alakbar.

"Thinking you very much I am doing," the young price said, while strapping the belted sheath around his waist.

"That's thanking you, not thinking you," Marz corrected.

Alakbar smiled then repeated the correct word before snatching up the spear. His eyes narrowed as he swung the thing from left to right like a sword. "Not knowing to use how this thing."

Marz laughed then grabbed the spear from the prince, and using his left hand, he let it fly toward some trees in the distance. Of course the weapon missed its mark since the ex-gang leader wasn't at all proficient with throwing spears. After rushing to retrieve it, he proceeded to show Alakbar how to thrust it at an opponent, again using his left hand since his right wrist was still quite tender from being broken. "Do you know how to use that edged blade without killing yourself?" he asked, nodding at the knife at the youth's waist.

Alakbar nodded slowly. "Much have teaching when boy. Jambiya and bow."

"Excellent," Marz chirped, reclaiming his seat next to Tristan and unconsciously tossing an arm around his shoulders. An instant later he pulled away, silently cursing himself and hoping that Tristan wasn't pissed at him now. He scowled when he noticed Justin staring at him. Luckily, the merc lowered his eyes to his plate of food and said nothing. Marz could tell that the man was a lot like Dalo; both men abhorred same gender relationships. Justin probably wasn't aware of anything special going on with him and Tristan yet. If he found out, he'd most likely make some snide comment. Then I'd have to kick his raking ass!

Shrugging off any further thoughts of Justin, he sent a mental message to Tristan. "Sorry about wrapping my arm around you a minute ago." He might have said more if Jeremy didn’t avert his attention by tapping him on the shoulder.

"Here's some trail mix to eat on the road," he said, handing Marz a bag of strange looking foodstuff along with a wide smile. After digging in his pocket, the otherworldly youth slipped two white pills into Marz's hand. "Those are extra strength Advil. Take them if your ribs start to ache cause they work pretty well at relieving pain." He glanced at the dragon and frowned before turning back to Marz. "Valium is better but Tristan would have a shit fit if I gave THAT to you." Jeremy patted Marz on the shoulder then hurried off to sit by Rowan and Tia.

Marz rolled his eyes then stuffed the pills into his pocket. Since when did anyone think he needed anything for pain? "It looks like we're not ready to leave yet, so I guess I should practice meditating for the chakras a little bit huh?" he asked, glancing at Tristan.
