...just getting tired of seeing that Book Banned In The USA! thread up top every time I come on here, and thought I'd do something about it.

Oh, wait, here's some fodder for the Laura-haters... according to the latest Talkers Magazine, Dr. Laura has broken her tie with Howard Stern and has climbed back to the #3-rated national talk show host. (Rush and Hannity are still 1-2.) Many thought the Iraq war would damage her ratings, but apparently she saw impressive gains across the country.

My take? She's still not as strong as she once was. In many markets, she's been moved to timeslots such as 6pm-9pm, when competeting stations tend to have weaker hosts. (I feel the same way about Savage; okay, his listenership is huge, but there's not nearly the level of competition at 7pm that there is at 3pm.) But those who said Dr. Laura was soon to be gone for good may have been premature.

Discuss!

Oh, and a little something to get Captn Hank foaming at the mouth... ;) GLENN BECK GLENN BECK GLENN BECK ROCKS!

(There, that alone'll be good for 2 or 3 fresh replies to keep this thread up top...)

[> [> If Beck's #2, then I'm #1. The Talkers article didn't mention anyone else on the list, but 4 or 5 months ago Glenn Beck was in a distant tie for 10th with the likes of Rusty Humphries. Maybe he's talking about a specific demographic. I don't have Talkers in front of me right now, but I think they were talking about 12+... that's everyone aged 12 or older. -- "Vince From Villanova" (Isn't post-bumping fun?), 06:19:02 07/04/03 Fri

Vince.... Just got home from a very nice long weekend and I read your post. Good grief, the only thing Beck can be number 2 at, is being in-line to be "keel hauled". The number 1 position is reserved for Geraldo Rivera.
