Subject: I do take the Michael Savage comparison as a compliment, thanks - but I've toned down my rhetoric for this board! Seriously, I think most who post here are just old crusties longing for the old days of WWDB. Y'all can't seem to stand anyone on 1210 outside of Rollye. I guess there's always NPR and WHAT...
In reply to: richiep 's message, "Scott are you really Mike Savage? The way you write sounds just like him! (and no, that's not as a compliment) As for talk radio, I'm down to only about 15 minutes a day now - as the old saying goes, you can't grow your mind if you pull it in only one direction - talk radio use to be about ideas - now its just all one sided propaganda (even if is was what I 100% agree with, that would suck) - you need to hear all sides to learn - sadly those days are long gone." on 15:48:40 04/10/03 Thu

“Old crusties longing for the old days of WWDB.” Not one to generalize are you, Scott? Talk radio fans come to this board to express their opinions; sorry you have to resort to name-calling (kind of an old talk radio shtick that went out with Fred Williams in 1971 in this market). “Crustie,” though I might be, I really like Jeff Katz, Michael Savage (yes, your name-calling reminds me of him) Phil Hendrie and Stern. You want to call names? Go back to elementary school…and finish it this time. Pseudonyms Uck, but we're "libel free."

[> [> [> [> [> Don't know about 30 years ago but I imagine it was pretty good back then. It certainly was better 15 to 20 years ago than it is now. Talk radio in Philadelphia has gotten progressively worse...like radio in general. A dying medium really. -- Tector Gorch, 14:15:29 04/14/03 Mon

Scott, I guess you are partially right in my case. I do miss the old WWDB - Irv Homer, Dominic Quinn, Bernie Herman, Bernie McCain, etc. The hosts had DIFFERENT points of view from each other - WHAT A CONCEPT!!!Maybe those days are forever over. Everybody has an agenda these days. Not sure if I qualify as an "old crustie" though. I'm 38 years old now but I started listening to WWDB when I was a 19 or 20 year old musician who was fed up with the state of the music stations in Philly - and they are even worse now. You are correct that I can't stand ANYONE on WPHT except Rollye but that's not because I'm an old WWDB fan. Dom Giordano is from WWDB and I couldn't stand him then and I still can't stand him. As for Rollye I've only recently become a fan of her - never really listened to her on WWDB. In the final year or two of WWDB the station was awful - Jay and Hillary, Kent Voss etc...just terrible radio - even worse than WPHT is now. I am TRYING to like Jeff Katz though...he is the only one that MIGHT stand out.
