Subject: He is, and always has been, a moderate than leans more right than left. Labeling one a "conservative republican" evokes the image of other b'casters like Bob Dornan, Rush Limbo, GG Liddy, and Michael Savage. I don't think MAS feels comfortable being lumped in with that crowd, so he plays the center to appear fair and unbiased. For WPHT, it's good strategic programming move not to have so many strident conservatives in one day.
