There must have been a thousand kids there of all ages. I was told 19 was the max. Basically, you sat around until your set of numbers was called, you turned in your self addressed envelope, you stood in front of a camera for less than 10 seconds. You stated your name, age, and smiled; show those teeth. Thank you very much. It took an hour or hour and a half to get through this many people.

Well today I received a postive evaluation notice. Lucky me. Now they are going to evaluate the parents, one day, one time only, no kids allowed under 9. It is going to be a hardship to change my schedule to go to this meeting to watch a video of success stories and be told that the success comes from the parents. If I make it, I will post again.

A Safe Road to Child Stardom!!!

(New York, NY), July 21, 2004---Lucille Khornak, professional child photographer announces the unveiling of Childstarmodels.com, a secure, easy to use, parent friendly website where aspiring baby, child, and teen models can professionally market their talent to be viewed by agencies and scouts. Finally, a child modeling site where parents can be secure that the model's best interest is at hand without any of the usual gimmicks and scams. Childstarmodels.com is not an agency but an online child model hub, designed to give models the opportunity to connect with the wide range of agents, casting directors, art buyers, photographers & clients.

This is a full service photo model hub where subscribers can submit professional or unprofessional snap shots. The photo staff will clean and fine tune your photo to professional status, compose a quality industry format composite and place it on the site. Childstarmodels.com also offers the option to order composite cards or professional modeling packages. Subscribers are under no obligation to use Lucille’s photo service, but she does offer it to those in the New York Tri-state area or can refer a qualified professional to those outside the New York area. The website is set up with easy to follow instructions, but should users have any problems or questions, Lucille and her staff are at hand to answer any questions. The site is setup on a subscription base format, subscribers can choose to sign up for $27 a month, $162.00 for 6 months with one free month or $324.00 for 1 year with two free months.

“The idea for this website came from years of parents asking me how they could get their child into modeling. I was more than happy to give advice to my clients and now want to spread the word so other parents can have a safe place to showcase their child's photograph free of scams and gimmick, knowing that the child’s best interest is at hand,” states Lucille.

Lucille Khornak and her renowned talent have led her to become an award winning photographer, author, and talk show guest. She transitioned into baby and child photography because she found that children have a natural uninhibited nature that photography can capture. She loves children and has a tremendous patience to work with them. She has a unique style that transforms children's playfulness and charm into beautiful works of art. Lucille is currently working as the main photographer for Hampton Family Life Magazine and continues to evolve and explore new avenues and trends that can enhance her photography style.

Jamie,

Thank you! Another mother received the same exact letters that I did. One asking if you can assume the cost of travel up to 4 hours away and the second saying they will pay my child $236 off the next years search. They would want the balance paid by July 31, just like hers. I do think they are a SCAM and I am going to tell everyone that I know if I hear anything mentioned (no, make that even if I don't) about "The Great American Model & Talent Search or Aquarian Associates! There are just too many "odd" things about this search business! In the "meetings" they have with you, they say they pay for all travel!, BULL! When we received the letter that ask about traveling, it says you pay all expenses to go to an additional "photo session or screen test".

I have a beautiful 1 year old daughter everywhere we go people stop us and tell us how she should be in commercials etc.. at first we blew it off but then even my parents and close friends all started saying it because of all the attention she gets. So we entered her int the great american model and talent search although I had some skepticism because we had to pay money(prior to entering I didnt do research so I didnt know all the bad press they recieve) anyway she did the search and she was selected as one of the children who has opportunities and we would be notified by mail. I dont think I had ever been more excited in my life. Well so far we have recieved 2 letters 1 asking our travel availability if photos were needed mind you it was not a personal letter it was more a generic standard that I am sure was sent to thousands. Then we just recieved another letter outlining an "opportunity" it was she was chosen to be in an advertisment for next years search and that they would pay her 236.00 for her participation sound good huh? Well the catch is that in order for her to be in the ad she has to be registered for next years search which is 459.00 but they will deduct the 236.00 and we just pay the balance by july 31st or as a "convenience" we can even post date a check up until august 31st. Well needless to say I feel ripped off and really stupid because I am a hard working parent who isnt financially well off and it was a sacrifice to do this but we wanted to get a foot in the door and I feel like these people slammed a metal door on that foot and crushed it. Because come on if it isnt a scam why wouldnt them of all people who is trying to recruit kids for next year why would you want to charge your kids that got such favorable reviews at the last search you would be happy to want to use them and actually pay them not ask for money so I just want to know if anyone can help me because I dont want to give up because I do believe if my daughter can be seen by the right people she can make it I just need to know who are the right people and who do you reach them when you dont have a lot of financial resources.

Ok here we go ....NEVER EVER EVER pay a fee, if you check back in the archives you will see much to do about this search...if you post a new request just about agencies I am sure someone here can help you! Most agencies just require snapshots for young children since they change so rapidly.

I have the same exact experience. We also received the two letters. Now I think we've been had! The letter stated that if our daughter was picked for any of the opportunities (4 opportunities listed), we would be notified by December, but they want to make sure they get next years 2005 Great American Model & Talent Search money with the deduction of $236! We met a lady at the search that said her son had done 6 jobs and loved this "outfit", but I wonder if she wasn't someone that works for them!

I received a postcard inviting me to a Children and Teen Open casting call in Houston. I think my 7 year old son has potential. I am planning to go to Aquarian Associates casting call today. I am doing research now and I appreciate the caution that Jamie has given me. I also hope that Charlotte is real. I found the Better Business Bureau has given a reliability rating for Aquarian Associates but not for any other person that posts on their website. Aquarian Associates promises a FREE EVALUATION in their postcard and I presume that is the hook. If they ask for money, I hope I will be smart enough to keep my wallet closed. If I can find this BB again after I go to the casting call, I will post a follow-up message.

When you attend the "free evaluation" , be sure to bring plenty of money!!!!!! The evaluation is free, but everything after that costs a pretty penny! The Better Business Bureau is a joke! These people should have been put out of business years ago! Read what others have posted-mostly everything about them is negative. See for yourself, but don't forget your checkbook, and prepare for disappointment.

I went to one of their auditions, but didn't make it,
I should've taken my two daughters!! Anyway I didn't pay them anything, I just showed up and filled out some paper work and auditioned. I did some research on them and they
turned out to be legit. The BBB (Better Business Bureau)
told me that they were a pretty good company and they haven't recieved any complaints about them. So check them out, it couldn't hurt (maybe your pride if you get denied!!)
Go to their web site to see where they'll be and the time and dates as well. Good Luck

All modeling conventions are SCAMS...why? Because this is not how legitimate agencies pick up clients...they have thousands walking through their doors on a daily basis so they have no reason to "seek out new faces"...the agents that do show up to these conventions are there to network with other agencies and because the money that YOU paid to be there are lining their pockets!!!!! Never waste your time or money on these scandolous schemes.

I do agree that some modeling conventions are scams and I DO KNOW THAT ALL ARE NOT. I am living proof. I took my child to an open call and then to the convention. After doing so, he has 7 agents in different areas and has done alot of work. His agents have all been obtained from the conventions and I am grateful that they are out there. You have to follow the belief in your child and in your heart, not what all words that people say especially if it does not go their way. They say DO NOT BELIEVE EVERYTHING YOUR READ. Believe in what you live and expierence.

Yes, I have had several dealings with Millie Lewis, and they are a very reputable company. My son is presently on file with them, and I have had nothing but good experiences with them. They are interested in informing their client of scams and how to stay away from them. I hope this helps.
